For nearly 40 years, Garden House Hospice Care has supported our community with expert palliative and end of life care when it matters most. Founded by local people, we’ve helped thousands of patients and families live as fully as possible, share precious time, and experience comfort and compassion in life’s final days.
Today, the need is greater than ever. Across North Hertfordshire, more people are living with complex, life-limiting conditions and need specialist care. Our dedicated teams support every step of the way – managing pain and symptoms while caring for the whole person, and offering emotional support to loved ones during the most difficult times.
But like many hospices, we face rising costs and increasing demand, while funding struggles to keep pace. Despite doing all we can to protect services, we’ve had to make difficult decisions, including reducing beds and scaling back some support.
That is why charity partnerships matter so much. Every donation ensures local people receive not only expert care, but the kindness and compassion that define hospice care. Only around a third of our funding comes from the NHS. The rest relies on the generosity of our community. Quite simply, we couldn’t be here without you.
